So here is it - this name is compound of 2 words - App - which a accepted abbreviation for mobile application programs. 
Silo - read as Saa-E-LO - actually means a big container used to keep agricultural yields, but is also used to underground fire-arms storage used by super power countries. So we are referring that storage here. 

So the idea was to make powerful (like missile) applications and make many of them, so we will have a SILO of apps.
